Welcome

  • Welcome to Two Babes and a Brain. No, you didn’t read it wrong. We are called Two Babes and a Brain. Yes TWO WOMEN ONE BRAIN. And yes, before you ask, we are ready to take all the comments and jokes that come with that. Allow us to explain. Children fry your brain cells. They suck the intelligence right out of you. They cause you to stare blankly at objects wondering how to use them to do bodily harm—usually you imagine doing bodily harm to yourself because if you do bodily harm to your children, DCYF will have to get involved and that just takes up time you don’t have because---you have children. The two women who run this blog have six children between them. Therefore, they are short on brain power. After some serious mathematical calculations they have come to the conclusion that together they have a total of ONE brain. They feel lucky to have this. Now, on to the Babe issue. To be a Babe, you don’t have to look like Carmen Electra or Katherine Zata Jones. It’s a state of mind. It’s being comfortable in your own skin. A Babe has her own opinions about issues, whether you are talking about politics, sports, education or even the War on Terror. Chris and Lisa definitely have their opinions about almost everything. That’s one reason they created Two Babes and a Brain. And when their opinions are on opposite sides, look out. Katy, bar the door and batten down the hatches cause sh#t’s gonna hit the fan. Chris and Lisa extend an invitation to you to post your comments, questions and yes, even dissenting opinions. But be warned, they love nothing better than a good juicy debate.

Hillary Is Not Our A Game

(Chris Sears--you are soooo gonna owe me lunch!)

This Sunday, in the New York Times, there was a piece titled The Fallback. It showcases Mark Warner, former Governor of Virginia, as the other option for the Democratic presidential nominee in 2008. Plan A, of course, is Hillary--at least according to the New York Times and the party elite.

It is a very long piece and if you ask me it is totally wrong. It is part of the self-fulfilling prophecy the piece so aptly highlights. The thing about self-fulfilling prophecies is that everyone has to believe and act accordingly for them to work.

Hillary Continues to Stand By Her Man

NEWS FLASH!!!  Hillary Clinton is once again being humiliated by her husband.  A new book The Truth About Hillary, ranked #26 on Amazon last week, talks about Bill's flagrant affairs, most recent of which is with a woman right in their Chappaqua neighborhood.  The book goes on to say how he would spend the night at this woman's house while his secret service men would stay parked at the end of her driveway all night.  Now I haven't read the book nor will I ever read it.  In fact the book features a picture of Bill kissing a woman with a Kerry/Edwards hat on.  I'll send you to Drudge for a look at that.  I'm just not going to post a picture of someone if I can't be sure of the identity.

I am far from a Hillary Clinton fan.  I don't like her politics and I think she uses anyone and everyone to her advantage.  But, I do feel sorry for her.  Nobody deserves to be humiliated like this in the media.  I'm not blaming the author of the book.  I'm blaming Bill and I guess in a way, I'm throwing some blame her way as well.  Why would any person, let alone a public figure, tolerate this type of long term behavior from their spouse.

Hillary Clinton will almost assuredly make a run for the presidency in '08 (contrary to what my bud Chris thinks).  How is she going to be able to run a campaign with Bill standing by her side?  I understand how she ran in New York and won.  That was a very liberal area.  But we are talking about a campaign in a country that has voted for a Republican president twice and voted in a majority of Republicans in Congress.  Her husband's behavior and the fact that she turns a blind eye to it is going to be the focus of the media.  I certainly hope she has good writers to figure out answers to the following questions that you know even the MSM will be asking:  "Senator Clinton, after all your husband has done, why do you continue to stay married to him?"  "Senator Clinton, what kind of example are you setting for your daughter and other young women who look up to you?"  And, of course, the obvious question, "Senator Clinton, if you can't keep your husband under control, how on earth are you going to run a country?"

Far be it from me to give Hillary advice, but if she wants a real shot at the White House, she needs to divorce Bill now and send him on a long vacation to Europe during the campaign.  Of course, even then, she still won't get my vote.

Hillary is NOT the Nominee

Hillary I love it when I hear that Hillary is going to run. I love it when I hear that she will get the nomination. I love it when the Republicans say she is the woman to beat.

I love it because it is all crap.

I don’t know if Hillary will run. She might. But I don’t think she will get the nomination.

I think all of this talk is because the Republicans would love to run against her. They would love to beat her up. They would love to play “Stand by Your Man” at political rallies and talk more about Whitewater. Maybe they can exhume the body of Vince Foster to see if she is the one who shot him. They would love it.

But I don’t think it is going to happen.

In the spirit of full disclosure—I don’t have a great track record with predictions. My son knocked my Crystal Ball off the table and ever since that I have been blind when it comes to seeing the future—however, I am going to take the plunge and go on record as saying this Clinton thing will not happen.

Now, someone will come along and throw numbers at me. They will say, “She polls well.” “The only one who can beat her is Rudy Giuliani.” “She has a –whatever percent—approval rating."

So what? It is 2005 and she is not running for anything.

Have her file papers and announce her candidacy for President—those numbers—which don’t mean diddle in the first place will plummet.

Everyone says that she appeals to the liberal base of the Democratic Party. That might be true. Everyone says she appeals to women—sure, maybe a few who are more concerned with the gender of the President than the agenda of the President.

But here is what I know—she doesn’t appeal to me. I am a woman and a Democrat and I will not vote for her.

She is arrogant. She is shrill. She thinks she is better than me and she is not. She thinks it takes a village to raise a child and while that might have been true for her, it isn’t true for me and it isn’t true for a lot of the Mom’s I know. It takes parents to raise a child. I know what is best for my child not Hillary.

I can hear some of you saying that I am the exception to the rule--that Democrats like her and will make her their nominee. Well, my mother said she’d rather write in Mickey Mouse than vote for Hillary Clinton.

Maybe it is just genetics. Maybe we are the only two Democrats on earth who won’t vote for her, but I don’t think so.

I don’t think Hillary runs, and if she does I don’t think she gets the nomination.
