Friday Summary
Not too much going on in the world today... :)
Field Day for my kids will be canceled because it is raining.
If you make a large mistake with nuclear weapons you get fired...as it should be.
Obama pulled a fast one and sent his media contingent to Chicago while he and Hillary met for drinks and pleasant banter...
And the Celtics...WON...
We now return to our regularly scheduled Friday afternoon...
Make it a good one folks...
Chris

Boo Celtics! ;0)
This bit of news caught my eye:
The Senate is about to vote on a bill (S. 2191) that would make things worse by raising gas prices, increasing home energy bills, and slowing the economy. "This is easily the largest income redistribution scheme since the income tax." says the Wall Street Journal. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB121236237789236363.html?tr=y&auid=3726057
Quote:
Ms. Boxer expects to scoop up auction revenues of some $3.32 trillion by 2050. Yes, that's trillion. Her friends in Congress are already salivating over this new pot of gold. The way Congress works, the most vicious floor fights won't be over whether this is a useful tax to create, but over who gets what portion of the spoils. In a conference call with reporters last Thursday, Massachusetts Senator John Kerry explained that he was disturbed by the effects of global warming on "crustaceans" and so would be pursuing changes to ensure that New England lobsters benefit from some of the loot.""
Happy Friday!

I was just at lunch at work and said "Today is D Day". One girl (around 30) said "What's D Day?"
Pretty sad statement about our education system!
But, more important , if you don't know what happened today and where it happened and why there is a cemetary there with many our brave patriots there, how can you in any way with any intelligence even understand anything about today and our country. There are still people there who remember the day and express their love to Americans who go visit there and they say how thankful they are for "our boys" coming that day. They know we saved them from evil.
Interesting to note. Right now, the 9/11 museum that travels around the world, is in Normandy.

Searsie, Coincidentally today is also the 112th birthday of the UK's oldest war veteran, Henry Allingham, he joked that his secret to longevity is "cigarettes, whisky and wild women".
He enlisted with the Royal Naval Air Service (RNAS) as a mechanic and a year later, in 1916, he was involved in the greatest naval battle of the World War I, the Battle of Jutland.
A year before the end of the war, he was posted to France to support the Royal Flying Corps, and helped service and rescue aircraft which crashed behind the trenches.
Eight of Mr Allingham's grandchildren and great grandchildren and their partners flew from their homes in the United States to join him for his 112th birthday.

Scottie, I notice you say nothing about a wife!...So, I assume he is "available". He sounds like my kinda man..I love military men AND if his "secret to longevity" is true......sounds like I could keep him alive a few more wild years!!

LOL Bless you Searsie
You are so funny.
112? Wow Bless old Henry too. :0)
I remembered it was D-Day this morning, but this is the first I've read or heard mention of it all day.

I was pulling for the Celts!
The fact that the Celtics will kick the Lakers' ass.. and that causes a pain for LizaJane..is just an extra plus!
Posted by: Lee | Saturday, June 07, 2008 at 12:44 AM
There is nothing lower on the scale of 'scum' than a f*ckin' hypocrite!
Sham Hannity sits in his airconditioned office claiming that Liberals and Democrats arfe faggot, Anti-Bush, Anti-American traitors:
He claims he will "...stand up and fight for principle...", direct quote from tonite's show on Faux News.
The lines below are from Wiki[edia and are part of Hannity's biography.
Seems the only thing he fights for is the millions he makes Whoring for the Radical Right wing!
As far as I'm concerned, Hannity is a 'loud mouthed punk',Who runs his mouth - But is content to profit from the blood of real hero's:
Sean Hannity Military Career:
..."Though Sean Hannity is a staunch conservative and major supporter of the United States invasion of Iraq, he never served in the all volunteer US military..."
Ergo: Hannity's military career is non-existent!!
Ergo: He is a SHAM-WOW!
Posted by: Lee | Saturday, June 07, 2008 at 12:59 AM
causing pain to LizaJane is an "extra plus" because the Celtics won, and not because the Lakers won...
Um because?....
Someone has so much self inflicted pain he has to share?
Someone has a lot of emotional pain regarding everything except breathing and this person assumes everyone else is that way too?
Or was it because she said the name ""Antoin "Tony" Rezko". and asked "Let's look at that" and gets crickets chirping instead? LOL!
BTW O'Emoti-Pain Inflicting One
Sean Hannity went to seminary school wanting to become a priest. And he has pretty much said more then once, (I recall over the years), that he was a complete F-up as a young man and is constantly in AWE of the young people he meets and speaks to who are in the military in his line of work and in his life.
But, be happy it pains me to know end to give you one iota of attention on this blog anymore!

Once again Lee's words are wiser than LJ's.
Posted by: aRealLiberal | Sunday, June 08, 2008 at 03:06 AM
I just watch Hillary's speech and it was great. But I expected Hillary to support Obama once reality set in. I just wish Kerry fought for the Presidency as hard as Hillary did, cause Bush would already be history.

"Once again Lee's words are wiser than LJ's."
Oh just because you say so?
I don't think so!
First off, these days, not many men or women have served in the military compared to our population. That's why these people ARE special.
Second, if some one says "they will stand up and fight for principle" it is a NOT being a hypocrite because they didn't serve in the military.
Unless you want to include all your little friends ARL, who put on pink t-shirts, hold signs and chant little chants in front of the White House or recruiter offices, or who post on "MoveOn.org" websites as being hypocritical too.
And so do you still think these are wise thoughts? Sheesh.
I think someone who promotes "peace and love" in one breath, and wishes "pain" , "failure", on someone; even if it's to someone on a blog, or even a President they don't agree with,is a big fat hypocrite myself.

Lee has been consumed with hatred and must suffer terribly. I doubt very much the great "unifier", who has failed to unite his democratic party, will unite this great country, and that is truly sad. There is no hope for Lee being relieved of his suffering anytime soon, I hope he does not continue to suffer so much...it is a painful thing to read.

OOOh! I am so much pain and anguish...The pain is doubled this day because the Celtics nearly blew a 24 point lead to Kobe's Lakers last night in game 2. But God, working in the mysterious ways God does, woke up the Celtics in the last 30 seconds and allowed Paul Pierce to make the clinching free throws to, again, thwart lizaJane's invading Lakers, 108-102.
A couple of Flexeril took the pain away!
I doubt that the Celtics will 'sweep' the Lakers because LizaJane uses the 'broom' they need, so she can fly into, and out of, this Blog......

WoWee! Does Lee have a problem with Sean Hannity or what?? What's up with that wierd connection?
If I don't like someone I just don't watch him! Life is too short! I want to ENJOY!!
Maybe I try to get the "other side of the argument" somewhere else like from newspaper articles or if there are people I respect, who have another position than I, I look them up on the net to get the other opinion.
Too bad that Lee doesn't know that if he spoke to ANY military man, that man would say that he fights for our nation so that ANY man can say what he wants to. He fights so that people can express an opinion that he may hate.
Aside I will tell you that a great portion of the military love Sean Hannity and his shows..that aside...the military man fights so that anyone, even those who have no served..even ME..can express their opinions whnever they want to.

Searsie,
I never said that Sham Hannity has no right to voice his opinion!
I only showed that he is a lying hypocrite.
Your post about respecting 'free speech rights', should be directed at LizaJane. It was she that proclaimed that, "If you haven't served in the military, then you need to keep your opinions to yourself..". (A close quote).
Again , I point out the hypocrisy of you warmongering Neo-Cons who hide in your homes and in studios, and urge OTHERS to go and die for Bush's Ego...and won't go and put YOURSELVES on the front line.
That is rank chicken-sh*t hypocrisy!!
I specifically detest:
Bush himself
Cheney
Both if whom avoided VietNam!!!
Romney and his 5 strapping adult sons!
None have put on a uniform - but Rmoney is a warmongerer!
And
Hannity - who is a common-ass faggot punk!
Posted by: Lee | Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at 12:03 PM
Guess the free speech thing did come out as more prominent in point, but the thing is that being in the military is NOT the prerequisite to voicing opinions, marching, ranting, serving in the government or going on TV and arguing any darn thing you want. THAT is what our VOLUNTEER Soldiers fight for. You can have any opinion of Bush or Cheney that you like..hate them for not forcing their kids to go into the military ..whatever. But, soldiers (in general) would rather call Bush or Cheney their Commander in Chief that a Clinton or an Obama. It's just fact and they really don't care if you understand why. They are kinda busy right now either fighting or wishing they could go back to help their guys over there.
Posted by: Searsie | Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at 03:58 PM
As for me "hiding in my home and urging others to go die", I wish that I could go but they are not thrilled to sign up an out of shape 58 year old woman with bad knees!!
I have though, so many times, tried to convince my kids that it would be a good thing to join any branch of the military service. You can't MAKE them, Lee. If they are over 18, you just can't MAKE them do anything! But then there are those who have it in their core to want to go...many times at the dismay of their parents, who just have to let them.
Posted by: Searsie | Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at 06:36 PM
Again, Searsie. It is not your kids I am calling 'hypocrites'. Frankly, I don't know what their opinions of 'Bush's war' is.
But Sham Hannity makes millions of $$$'s sitting behind his desk writing books, and sitting behind his studio desk on FAUX NEWS, urging...get this: O-T-H-E-R-S to buy into Bush's Neo-Con lying scare tactics that Iraqi's,(and now, Iranians) are about to launch a land invasion, or missile attack against the USA. Therefore, you 'bathed-in-the-NEO-CON blood', suckers need to protect my, (Bush's), oil stock portfolio, by sacrificing YOUR lives, to wit: 'In the name of MS. LIBERTY', to keep these sand-N's from coming over here.
Now, Since it is necessary to keep American forces over there for up to 100 years, because the Iraqi's are so totally inept and incapable of stopping their own domestic chaos and Civil war, how the hell are these same Iraqi's going to launch an invasion against the USA??
I bet if someone trully explained the actual truth to them - most would agree with me that they have been taken advantage of by Bush's propaganda machine.
But t hat's ok, Searsie, the military has to justify it's onerous cost by being involved in some war somewhere, all the time. Thats about the only thing we do properly here in America, is wage war.
We sure as hell can't solve our domestic problems, can we?
I guess you will always consider yourself a true patriot because you can sleeo at night knowing a lot of Americans are leaving body parts all over the Middle East in order to keep Bush's oil portfolio fat!
God Bless Bush's Oil Portfolio!
Posted by: Lee | Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at 12:33 AM
One of the biggest oil guys in the government is our own poor health'd Teddy. I think it's 3 he owns. No problem if we up the taxes. Teddy's money is in Figi accounts so he's all set!
